~ JANUSES ~

This installation on water consecrates the rise of myths: five aquatic deities present in different waters of the planet emerge gently from the surface to appear as huge double-faced heads, marine Januses that observe you and then suddenly disappear in a burble of air.

Tenfold gods, who ordain the life forces and richness of the aquatic depths, evoke the five continents.

These solar energy sculptures take advantage of the light captured atop their heads by a solar panel, to raise themselves by air compression. After emergence in slow disclosure, the aquatic divinity attains its’ sinking point and plunges back into the water.

Their upsurges are of random cycles, and this deity-ballet goes on uninterrupted until evening, when the absence of light stops the rhythm of their appearances.
