Port Saint Louis, Route to the sea

Landscapes are the thoughts of men splattering space.

“Route to the sea” offers a new look on the city of Port saint Louis du Rhône, sedimentary tongue for the Bouche du Rhone, where the land goes towards the sea.

This journey-spectacle created in 1996, offered motorist-spectators 7 kilometers of revamped road, offering extraordinary and paradoxical propositions and viewpoints, connecting the city to the beach.

Upon leaving the city, each motorist received a “landscape pass”, and then hit the road to the beach.

On the way, actors work in the landscape, perched or displaced on sculptures, bridges spanning space, they etch utopian works and shift the eye on twelve points, leading up to the big blue.
